Last week, we were delighted to welcome our partners from History Associates, Incorporated, for an exciting two-day visit filled with collaboration and inspiration. Having our colleagues with us in both London and our Kettering studio gave us the perfect opportunity to connect, share ideas, and showcase our joint expertise in digital archiving and historical data preservation.
The first day took place in London, beginning with a visit to our friends at the Wellcome Collection, where our dedicated on-site digitisation team has been based for the past five years. As a renowned hub of science, culture, and digital innovation, it provided an ideal setting for discussions about the future of digital archiving and knowledge management.
At another location, we went behind the scenes in our product photography studio, showcasing the creative work and technical expertise behind our professional imaging services.
We hosted our partners at our TownsWeb Archiving & PastView studios. Here, our digitization team offered a detailed tour, demonstrating how we preserve and manage digital collections, including scanning, cataloging, and long-term digital preservation workflows.
Our tech team also walked the HAI team through our access and discovery platform, PastView, showcasing how users can explore and interact with digital archives seamlessly and the meticulous processes that ensure historical records are accessible for generations to come.
This two-day visit reinforced the value of long-term collaboration in driving meaningful innovation across the archival sector.
As we continue expanding PastView’s presence in the United States, we are also launching new initiatives such as the Heritage Advantage CoLab, alongside supporting institutions with strategic digitization, and access & discovery solutions.
Episode 001 is now live, with Episode 002 already in development, so stay tuned! Exciting projects are on the horizon, and we can’t wait to share them.
