Since the Royal Logistic Corps Museum's PastView website launched, the team has added the First World War diary of Isaac Stoddart Wills (Army Service Corps) and around 120 early 20th-century photographs from the Museum's own collection, digitised by the Army Museum Ogilby Trust and previously hosted on the Ogilby Muster. The Museum has also improved photograph descriptions, titles, and metadata across the site, updated its journal collections, and is preparing a new digitisation project to bring more of its photo albums online.

### What's new on the Royal Logistic Corps Museum website?

Since launch, the Museum has made two significant additions to the archive:

- **The First World War diary of Isaac Stoddart Wills**, who served with the Army Service Corps - the first personal diary of its kind added to the site
- **Around 120 early 20th-century photographs** from the Museum's own collection, digitised by the Army Museum Ogilby Trust (AMOT) and previously hosted on the Ogilby Muster

### Who was Isaac Stoddart Wills?

Isaac Stoddart Wills served with the Army Service Corps during the First World War. His diary - the first personal diary added to the Museum's website - is split into three parts, each covering a different stage of his wartime service:

1. **East Africa** - his time serving in the East Africa campaign
2. **Salonica** - his planned journey to Salonica
3. **Canada to Liverpool** - his journey from Canada back to Liverpool

Each section offers a detailed, first-hand insight into daily life in the Army Service Corps during the First World War.

#### What is the most dramatic entry in Isaac Wills' diary?

The most striking entry comes from the Salonica diary, dated 26th June 1917. In it, Wills describes the ship he was travelling on being attacked by a German U-boat and eventually hit by a torpedo, causing it to sink. He survived by reaching a lifeboat and recorded the event, along with its aftermath and his eventual journey to Canada, in vivid detail.

### What do the Army Museum Ogilby Trust (AMOT) photographs show?

The approximately 120 photographs belong to the Royal Logistic Corps Museum and date from the early 20th century, including the First World War period. They were digitised by the Army Museum Ogilby Trust (AMOT) as part of its Ogilby Muster project, where they were previously hosted, and are now part of the Museum's own website. They document the Horse Transport and Mechanical Transport units of the Army Service Corps during this era.

### What else has the Museum team been working on?

Alongside new content, the Museum has focused heavily on improving the usability of its existing archive:

- **Photograph descriptions and titles** have been improved across the site, making it easier for members of the public to locate relevant images during their research
- **Metadata** for newly uploaded content has been reviewed and updated by Sam, the Museum's Head of Collections
- **Journal collections** have also been updated, with new cover images and revised edition titles and dates, making them easier to search and more appealing to browse for subscribers

### What's coming next?

**Watch this space:** the Museum has a new digitisation project starting behind the scenes, aiming to digitise as many of its photograph albums as possible and bring them online in the future. This means a significant amount of new material is expected to be added to the website over time.
