This year’s TownsWeb Christmas do was the perfect mix of fun and festive silliness. From surprise gifts, pass the Christmas pudding, team fun facts, a cocktail making class, and a delicious lunch at Kino Lounge Kettering, the event provided the ideal opportunity to celebrate the year and connect as a team.
Here’s a little look at how we spent our day:
The White Elephant Gift Exchange
This year we swapped the classic Secret Santa for the far more intense White Elephant gift swap. The option to steal someone else's gift brought a healthy dose of chaos to the office. There were some standout gifts that people really wanted, including a very popular bottle of Kraken rum, a murder mystery pack, a cosy plush blanket and even a set of electric drumsticks.
Pass the Christmas Pudding
An equally chaotic round of Pass the Christmas Pudding revealed everyone's questionable throwing accuracy. Similar to musical chairs, you keep passing the pudding until the music stops. Whoever is holding it unwraps a layer to reveal a prize. Some people surprised us with their lightning fast reflexes, while others… did their best.
5 Fun Facts Quiz
Our newer team members bravely stepped into the spotlight with a Five Fun Facts quiz to test everyone's random fact knowledge about their colleagues. We discovered who once had a punch up with a celebrity, who has unexpected hobbies and who has surprising talents. It was a brilliant way to get to know each other better and gave us plenty to talk about for the rest of the afternoon. A big congratulations to Millie Coleman for her outstanding knowledge of her colleagues and a well deserved quiz victory!
Christmas Lunch and Cocktail Making Class
We headed to Kino Lounge in Kettering for our Christmas lunch, and it didn't disappoint. With the top balcony area reserved especially for us, we had plenty of space for an entertaining cocktail making class. There were impressive creations, questionable experiments and a few accidental messes, but everyone had a brilliant time.
After showing off our mixing skills, we enjoyed a festively delicious lunch. It was the perfect setting to relax and reflect on a busy and productive year with a wonderful team.
We wrapped up the day with some competitive games of pool, which was the perfect low key end to a fun filled day.
