Celebrating 20 Years of Archival Digitisation and Discovery
Founded in 2006, this year marks our 20th anniversary. For over two decades, TownsWeb and PastView have supported hundreds of organisations in preserving, sharing and safeguarding their digital heritage.
This landmark year is an opportunity to reflect on what's been achieved, to recognise the people and projects behind it, and to look ahead to what comes next.
Throughout 2026 we will be sharing anniversary features that look back at key moments from our journey, featuring archive imagery, behind-the-scenes moments from across our history, and stories from the people and projects that shaped TownsWeb and PastView. Together, these will celebrate the clients, collections and collaborations that have defined our work over the last 20 years.
We will also be hosting a small, invite-only anniversary reception to thank our clients and partners, bringing together those who have been part of our story to celebrate two decades of digital heritage.
Stay tuned for more details soon.
10 Years of the TownsWeb Digitisation Grant
2026 also marks the 10th annual TownsWeb Digitisation Grant, and it will be our most ambitious year yet. Instead of our usual three grants of £3,000, we will be awarding three funding grants of £10,000 each, providing £30,000 in total to support the digitisation and preservation of heritage collections.
Our Match Funding Pot will also return, offering up to £1,000 in match funding for all other eligible applicants.
To celebrate a decade of the grant, we will be launching a new Digitisation Grant portal on our PastView platform. This will showcase both past and 2026 grant recipients, creating an immersive way to explore the collections made possible through our funding over the last ten years.
