Uploading A/V content & PDF to Pages

Audio & Video Material

You can now upload your audio and video content to {pastview}, with all common formats accepted, allowing you to publish even more of your collection online.  Simply select your desired A/V content, configure your import settings and upload your new content.

When uploading A/V content, you will see on the ‘Audio/Video’ tab that we have pre-selected our recommended web-ready output version for you already. This gives you the flexibility to upload your highest quality master files, while presenting them at the desired quality suitable for the web, ensuring a smooth streaming quality for your audience on both desktop and mobile devices, even if they find themselves on a slower Wi-Fi or mobile data connection.

Your A/V content is uploaded as an Item and can be quickly added to a suitable collection in the same way as any other digital material uploaded to {pastview}. Once you are ready to publish your A/V content on your website, {pastview} will automatically display your new items in the selected web-ready format for the best viewing experience.

PDF to Pages

Are your most recent magazines or newsletters now stored as PDFs? Or do you have old journals which have been digitised and stored as PDFs? The PDF to Pages feature is now available within the new file importer, giving you the opportunity to easily upload and manage PDFs in {pastview}.

How does it work?

Simply add your PDFs through the new importer and configure the import as desired.  You will notice a ‘PDF’ tab which gives you control over what {pastview} does with your PDF once it has been imported; choose to keep the PDF file as-is within your archive, or convert it to a new collection of images within your archive, automatically presented as a beautiful, searchable book explorer!

And there’s more

If you want to take advantage of making your PDF searchable, browsable and well presented but also wish to keep the original for reference or download, you can do that too.  Choose whether to discard the original once the conversion is complete, or optionally whether to attach it to the new collection as a downloadable file.
