Welcome back to the office…the archive, the museum, the library, the gallery, or wherever you happen to call your work space! We hope you had a wonderful festive break and are looking forward to discovering what 2023 has in store for us all!
We thought we would kick off the year by giving a little credit to our most popular resources and stories from 2022, before sharing a sneak peek at what to expect in the coming weeks and months of 2023. It is no coincidence that 23 rhymes with glee because that’s exactly how we feel about the new year with all its infinite opportunities and heritage related experiences!
So, let’s begin with a look and very brief overview of our five most popular resources for 2022:
The TWA Digitisation Grant was phenomenally popular this year attracting a record level of applications. Match funding was also granted for an unprecedented number of projects and we can soon begin sharing the news of how these projects are progressing. Our ‘Grant Success Stories’ page is a great place to start!
The granting of public access and the launch of Société Jersiaise’s newly updated website, ready for their 150th Anniversary this year, gave us all much to celebrate! Our interview marks the end of a very successful project and offers some valuable insight into the collection and return service we offer, regardless of where you might be located!
Here we give you a clear idea and explanation of what online discovery and enhanced access should look like, ensuring your results are within budget while maximising available funds. Our workflow has proved incredibly popular offering specialist tips and advice to help you communicate your expectations when securing that standout digitisation supplier.
Towards the end of 2022 we found ourselves presented with a real treat: the Archives and Records Association’s brand new ARC Magazine Microsite! Offering public access to back issues, as well as membership access to lastest issues of the magazine. This was a bold and impressive move for the ARA. One which created huge benefits for the archive and heritage industry.
Our values and mission mean we are concerned for all collections, not just the ones we have the pleasure of digitising here in our studios. Consequently, our eBook: Get Digitisation Ready (Part 1 & Part 2) focuses on guidelines for the safe capture of heritage items. Get it right first time and protect your material in the process.
But what about the year ahead, what do we have planned here at TWA? As it happens, quite a lot! Let’s start with the following. For the rest you'll just have to wait and see!
