TWA Digitisation Grant 2023: Winners Announcement!

After an incredible turnout to the winners announcement on the 30th of August 2023, brought to you straight from the ARA Conference in Belfast, we were very pleased to spread the news of this year's three lucky grant winners!

Every year we receive a phenomenal response to the grant and this year saw an unprecedented level of downloads and submissions. The standard, as always, was incredibly high and the competition fierce. Our judges have come to expect that they will be faced with a huge challenge. HTR 

Handwritten Text Recognition (HTR) comes to PastView!

We are proud to be one of the first digital collection platforms to offer Handwritten Text Recognition (HTR)! 

Both Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Handwritten Text Recognition (HTR) are now available on the PastView Platform, providing users with the ability to automatically recognise text within typed and handwritten documents.

All's well that ends well: A multi-digitisation project to include Shakespeare's First Folio

This is the story of a joint project involving AM, the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust (SBT), and TownsWeb Archiving (TWA). A story about the digitisation of Shakespeare’s work, and the creation of exceptional resources to support ongoing research in theatre and Shakespeare studies.

BACS

BACS enhances access to Scotland's rich business history with PastView

BACS & PastView partner to launch a new website marking a significant landmark in BACS’ ongoing commitment to preserving and promoting Scotland’s business and industrial history. PastView has facilitated this milestone by offering increased searchability and ingestion of the two collections: the Scottish Business and Industrial Journal, and the BACS Newsletterwhich ran from 1966-1976.
